Work on Welshpool one-way system to begin on Friday
Wednesday 13th October 2010, 1:13PM BST.
Work on Welshpool’s long-awaited one-way system will start on Friday.
Welshpool Town Council confirmed the start of work in the town’s Church Street car park – and route plans are now available in the town’s tourist information centre, the town council offices and the Powys County Council offices in Welshpool.
Robert Robinson, council clerk, said a 24-hour line would also be set up by developers for anyone experiencing problems during the works. He added: “We are hoping that the works can be completed by December 6.
“We’re also hoping most of it can be done without any traffic lights and with as little disruption as possible.”
He added: “Letters will be sent out to all the residents affected and a booklet informing people about the work will also be released next week.”
