Arrests made over St Martins, Oswestry, scrap metal thefts

Police have arrested 11 men in connection with the theft of metal from a Shropshire scrap business.

Officers went to Wilsons scrapyard on Ifton Industrial estate at St Martins, near Oswestry, around 3am yesterday after being alerted by a member of the public.

They arrested the men at several spots in the St Martins area, including at the scene. Two vehicles – a Ford Transit van and a Toyota van – were also seized.

The men were released on police bail while inquiries continue.
