Motorcyclist dies in south Shropshire crash

A motorcyclist has died and two more were injured in separate crashes in Shropshire. The man who was killed in the tragic collision has not been named.

He died after his bike was involved in a collision with a tractor and trailer on the B4368 between Diddlebury and Craven Arms around 3.45pm yesterday.

A second motorcyclist, riding a separate bike, suffered serious leg and suspected pelvic injuries after crashing nearby.

John Hawker, West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman, said: “One motorcycle is believed to have been in collision with a tractor and trailer.

“The man riding the motorcycle suffered multiple serious injuries in the crash. Unfortunately, nothing could be done and he was confirmed dead at the scene.”

Mr Hawker said the second motorcyclist, believed to be in his 50s, received emergency treatment at the scene and was airlifted to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham for further treatment.

Inspector Martyn Barnes, from West Mercia Police, said the two motorcycles had been involved in a collision with a tractor and trailer.

Meanwhile, another motorcyclist suffered back injuries when he was involved in a collision with a car in Hadnall, near Shrewsbury. The incident happened in Wedgefields Close at about 11.25am yesterday.

The man, believed to be around 30-years-old, was treated for his injuries at the scene, before being taken by ambulance to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.

Over the south Shropshire border, a man in his 30s, suffered serious chest and leg injuries after the motorcycle he was riding was involved in a crash on the A44 between Monkland, Leominster and Dilwyn, at around 11.30am yesterday.
