A Shropshire teenager remained “gravely ill” in hospital today – three days after she was struck by a car as she crossed the road.
Grace Currie, of Bagley, near Baschurch, was hit by a car on Monday evening.
Family and friends were staying hopeful today after the 17-year-old showed a “very slight” improvement at the University Hospital North Staffordshire in Stoke yesterday.
A close family friend said: “Grace showed a very slight improvement yesterday but she remains gravely ill.
“The family would like to thank everyone for their prayers and have asked everyone to continue to pray for their daughter.”
Messages of support for the former Corbet School pupil have continued to flood in on social networking sites.
Grace, a sixth-form student at college in Shrewsbury, suffered a serious head injury in the incident which happened on the B5067 Newtown, in Baschurch, at about 5.30pm.
