Oswestry A5 improvements must wait for reports
Thursday 30th September 2010, 6:00PM BST.
Improvements to a notorious stretch of the A5 near Oswestry will only be carried out if reports by the police, road bosses and the area’s coroner conclude they are necessary, councillors have been told.
Calls for improvements to the A5 Chirk bypass were made after a horror crash on the bypass bridge in March, in which two drivers died.
Councillors, suggesting a reduced speed limit and overtaking ban, heard changes would only be made if reports on the tragedy deemed them necessary.

I agree with Winja, look what’s happened to Telford, every NSL road has been reduced in speed except about two and now one of those has proposals to be reduced, un-neccessarily and yet KSIs have risen by 50% in 2009…something isn’t working and reducing the speed limits and installing lots of traffic lights seem to be the reason for this increase, unless someone knows something else that has happened to increase them so drastically.
