How could anyone dump kittens in an airtight box?
Thursday 30th September 2010, 10:36AM BST.
Six tiny kittens left for dead in an airtight cardboard box are being nursed back to health at a Shropshire vets after being found by a passer-by in the middle of a field.
The 10-week-old cats and their mother were found by two men walking in Bicton Heath, Shrewsbury, and handed in to staff at Vets4Pets who said today they were shocked at the act of cruelty.
The litter is now being cared for at the centre by owner Jonathan Benson and his team, who are looking to rehome them as soon as possible.
He said: “On Tuesday night two young men turned up at the surgery with these kittens, which they found in a cardboard box in a field. They had been walking through the field when their dog led them to this box.
“There were no air vents in the box and there is no doubt that they would have died a slow and painful death.”
Having been given health checks and treatment, the kittens, three female and three male, are ready to go to new homes.
Vets4Pets would like anyone interested in giving a kitten a loving home to call them at the surgery on (01743) 270370.

Unreal! This is the world we live in!!! Why not take them to the Cats Protection League?!! Where I work we kept smelling an awful smell then found someone had dumped some kittens in a plastic carrier bag, they were dead and been there a few days!! I have never been so angry of the suffering they had caused…. but what goes around comes around….

How can these poeple sleep at night after doing that.

Absolutely atrocious. It makes me very sad and extremely angry too that any human being could do such a thing. They don’t deserve to be called ‘human’. The increase in cruelty to animals lately is getting beyond belief and much tougher measures/fines should be implemented when people are caught, this might make people think twice about committing such appalling acts. The person/people responsible for this incident deserve to suffocate to death. Very slowly.

One could pray that the sick and heartless b*****d that did this ended up with the same fate…ie: shoved in a box and sellotaped in to suffocate too but no doubt they are feeling really pleased with themselves. How they can live with that on their conscience beats me!
I am so pleased that they were found and are all ok.
