A group of Year 10 pupils from a Shropshire school plan to help in a major fund-raising drive to generate funds for Hope House Children’s Hospice.
Year 10 pupils from Shrewsbury High School plan to sell tickets for a prize draw at Shropshire Sparkles, a major fashion show and showcase at Theatre Severn planned for Sunday.
The star prize in a spectacular draw will be a £1,000 diamond ring from The Ring Workshop, at Oswestry, which can be worn as a dress ring or engagement ring.
Vanessa Thomas, from Hope House, said: “Sunday’s Shropshire Sparkles showcase is shaping up to be a spectacular event and we are thrilled that the girls from Shrewsbury High School are lending a hand.
“We have an incredible fashion show in prospect, which has been organised by Hayley J, and with so much else to look forward to in beauty, giftware, food and more besides, it promises to be a wonderful afternoon.”
The Shropshire Sparkles showcase takes place on Sunday at Theatre Severn and tickets, priced £15, are available from the venue by telephoning (01743) 281281 or visiting www.theatresevern.co.uk
There will be a stunning fashion show featuring Hayley J, Quelque Chose, Jaegar, Dyas, Mystique and Pied Piper.
There will also be a boutique-style shopping arcade featuring the very best of Shropshire fashion, food, beauty and giftware.
The afternoon will run from 2.30pm until 6pm, with an opportunity to visit stalls and enjoy a glass of wine in the Theatre Severn bar.
The fashion show in the main auditorium will run from 3.30pm until 5pm.
Mrs Thomas added: “We’re just days away and we’re putting the finishing touches to our preparations. There are still a handful of tickets available and we’d urge people to snap them up quickly.
“Hope House is a wonderful organisation that helps life-limited local children and their families, so the money raised really couldn’t be going to a better or more deserving cause.”
