Tributes after student’s sudden death
Sunday 26th September 2010, 12:04AM BST.
Tributes have been paid to a “wonderful” and “bright” Shropshire teenager who died suddenly this week.
The parents of Andrew Newman, 17, of Tilstock, who suddenly passed away on Tuesday, say he was a popular teenager who had left them with a lot of happy memories.
Andrew was a former pupil at Sir John Talbot’s Technology College in Whitchurch and was studying A- levels in history, English and graphics at the Thomas Adams Sixth Form College, in Wem.
His parents, Clive and Alison Newman, said: “Our treasured son, Andrew, has left us. His last day with us was happy and full of plans that he had made for the near and far future. He was loving college and excited about new friendships. Our last meal together was full of conversation and laughter.
“Andrew was our colourful, wonderful, amazing, good-looking, bri-ght son. He has left us with ques- tions no one can answer and broken hearts that will never mend, but most of all he has left us with happy memories that we shall laugh about for years to come and the warmth from his smile will lighten our way.”
Andrew also leaves sisters Letara, 14, Alesha, 11, and other close family members. His funeral will be held at Telford Crematorium on October 2 at 10.45am
Neil Hemming, headteacher at Thomas Adams, said: “Our thoughts are now very much with Andrew’s family and friends and we extend our deepest sympathy to them at this sad time.”
