Tuesday 21st September 2010, 11:21AM BST.
Army bomb disposal experts say a hand grenade found in rural Shropshire was a live device dating back to the Second World War.
A team was scrambled to the scene at Poynton Green, near Shawbury, yesterday morning and carried out a controlled explosion.
The grenade was found by a resident using a metal detector on his farmland.
