People hurt in spate of Shropshire road crashes
Monday 20th September 2010, 11:29AM BST.
An elderly couple were injured when the car they were travelling in hit a telegraph pole in Shropshire causing a power cut to five homes.
The couple, in their 70s, suffered minor injuries in the crash which happened just after 9.45am yesterday in Newport Road, Edgmond, near Newport.
They were taken to the Princess Royal Hospital in Telford.
In a separate incident a tanker overturned spilling its load of cocoa onto the A5 at Nesscliffe near Shrewsbury, at about 2.25pm on Saturday. The driver suffered a deep cut to his head and was taken by ambulance to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital..
And a road was closed for nearly an hour today after a two car crash at Chelmarsh, near Bridgnorth.
The smash happened at 6.40am on the B4555 Bridgnorth to Highley road, just past The Bull pub.
Two people were checked over by ambulance staff but did not go to hospital.
