Public meeting over Bishop’s Castle biomass plant plans

A public meeting to discuss plans for a £5 million biomass plant in Bishop’s Castle will be held later this month.

Residents will each be given up to three minutes to speak if they wish at Shropshire Council’s development service scrutiny committee meeting due to be held at Bishop’s Castle Community College on September 28.

The controversial facility was named as the preferred option for land at Bishop’s Castle Business Park by Shropshire Council’s cabinet on August 3.

But the decision was called in by the Liberal Democrat group on Shropshire Council for chiefs to have another look.

Committee chairman Alan Mosley said he would not be restricting the time for public comments.
