A special trophy has been commissioned by Oswestry’s Marches School and will be presented annually in memory of tragic teenager Frankie McFall.

The 18-year-old, who was killed alongside her mother by her father at their family home in the town in February, was a former head girl at the school.

School bosses said the trophy would ensure Frankie would always be remembered.

Marches School business manager Sarah Davies said: “We have got a local man designing the trophy with Frankie and her leanings towards the arts specifically in mind. I believe the work is in the final stages and we are in conversation with her family about how they would like to take it forward.

“The idea is to present the trophy at every year’s presentation evening from this year onwards.

“Frankie was outstanding in every way and is missed by many people at the school. The trophy is an appropriate way to ensure she is remembered by pupils and staff.”

In the days after her death, more than 1,000 youngsters at the school took part in a minute’s silence to pay tribute to their former head girl.

The tribute was requested by the students themselves who were left stunned by the death of the teenager.

The teenager attended the school until 2008 and after studying A-levels at Shrewsbury Sixth Form College, she moved to Oswestry School’s sixth form.

She was still a pupil at Oswestry School when she was bludgeoned to death by her father Hugh.
