Man suffers suspected broken leg in A5 accident

A man suffered a suspected broken leg in a collision on the A5 in Shropshire today, which also caused disruption for motorists.

The incident involved one vehicle, a 4×4 towing a trailer, between the Preston Island and the M54 between Shrewsbury and Telford at about 10.30am.

It is not known what it collided with.

Police said the trailer overturned, causing traffic problems for motorists.

The Highways Agency said the eastbound carriageway was blocked but one lane reopened by 11.30am.
