Deal agreed for sale of Shrewsbury’s Liquid and Diva nightclub

A deal has been agreed to sell the lease for Shrewsbury’s Liquid and Diva nightclub which has been shut for nearly a year following the death of clubber Darren Griffiths.
Luminar Leisure has been trying to sell the site lease after two doormen were jailed for the manslaughter of father-of-four Mr Griffiths at the club in Raven Meadows in June last year.
Chris Ford, of commercial property consultants Gerald Eve, said a deal had been provisionally agreed with a third party..

This was always on the cards and good ridance i say. The talk is that the whole of the riverside shopping area is going to be flattened anyhow and re-built. Shrewsbury is a far better place without the club. Now we just need to sort out the other pubs that cause problems etc.

A new riverside centre is a great idea particularly with the planned hotel.. but there has to also be a demand for the retail space.

Luminar have owned the clubs for years and years and have just changed the names. ive had some fantstic times there and never seen any trouble. One night one terrible event. Compared to many areas Shrewsbury is a fantatic town to party. Its not the pubs that cause the trouble its the people who drink in them
