An Oswestry art group could win a £10,000 prize but only if enough people vote in an online competition.
The Project Group beat off strong competition to be shortlisted for a Future Friendly Award and £10,000 bursary.
The award is aimed at people who are making a real difference by championing sustainability and protecting the planet.
A panel of judges, including experts from the Energy Saving Trust, Waste Watch and Waterwise, have shortlisted five finalists including The Project Group.
The group supports people of all ages with mental health issues or learning disabilities through creative art work.
The group specialises in using recycled materials, creating everything from bags from tractor inner tubes, watertight vases from waste paper, to unusual vessels from recycled glass and striking fashion accessories from zips, bike parts and plastic bags.
Jo Davis, founder of The Project Group, said the £10,000 bursary would enable them to expand their work in Oswestry, and support other communities with their recycling efforts across Shropshire.
The voting closes at midnight on September 19. To vote for The Project Group, visit www.futurefriendly.co.uk
