Car destroyed in Market Drayton arson attack

A car was destroyed in an apparent arson attack in Market Drayton.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the fire in Salisbury Hill View, Market Drayton, which broke out at 2.15am today.

A blue Peugeot 107 Urban parked in the street outside the owner’s house was completely destroyed.

Investigating Constable Lyn Downes said: “If anyone saw suspicious activity there in the period leading up to 2.15am, I would ask them to call me at Market Drayton Police Station on 0300 3333000.

“I am appealing for any information which might help us identify those responsible. In particular, I would welcome details about a dark vehicle spotted leaving the scene at speed towards Dalelands Estate.”

She added: “The car was completely burnt out.” Details can also be left on the Crimestoppers line on 0800 555111.
