Shropshire plant faces closure

Shropshire aluminium firm Novelis has announced plans to close its Bridgnorth factory, which employs more than 300 people.

The company plans to close the plant next year and “consolidate” its activities into other plants across Europe.

Bosses said the closure was subject to consultation with the 319 workers at the site.
