Shropshire girl hurt in beach car accident
Monday 6th September 2010, 10:28AM BST.
A four-year-old Shropshire girl suffered minor injuries in a collision involving a car on a holiday beach in Mid Wales.
The youngster, from Herongate, Shrewsbury, suffered minor abrasions in the accident at Ynyslas beach, Borth, on Saturday.
Coastguard spokesman Jane Griffiths said the child had been evacuated from the beach by coastguards and treated by the ambulance service following the incident that took place at about 2.30pm.
It was believed the girl had been playing in the sand on the beach when a reversing car nudged her, she added.
Dyfed Powys Police was contacted because a vehicle was involved but nobody was available to comment today.
Two days earlier a 78-year-old Oswestry woman had to be helped by coastguards and paramedics at the seaside town of Tywyn when she suffered a suspected stoke.
“Mid Wales Ambulance paramedics examined the lady and were happy for her to return home,” said Mrs Griffiths.
