Man held after Bridgnorth drugs seizure
Monday 23rd August 2010, 11:29AM BST.
A man has been arrested after police seized 12 cannabis plants during a raid on a house in Bridgnorth.
Officers forced their way into the home in The Hookfield on Saturday morning, discovering the plants and associated items.
The man has since been charged with cultivating cannabis and obstructing police. He has been bailed to appear at Telford Magistrates Court next month.
Sergeant Steve Fitzpatrick, of Bridgnorth police, said today: “The warrant was granted by magistrates under the Misuse of Drugs Act and is part of West Mercia’s ongoing campaign targeting those believed to be involved in illegal drug activity.
“Tackling drugs issues continues to be a priority for the police in Shropshire and West Mercia as a whole. We are receiving more and more information from local communities about those involved in drugs.
“We always act on information received and would encourage people to come forward if they can assist the police.”
