M54 eastbound closed after lorry crash
Saturday 14th August 2010, 10:58AM BST.
Both lanes of the M54 Motorway eastbound were closed off near Telford today following a crash involving a Transit-type van and a lorry.
The collision happened between Junctions 5, for Telford Central, and Junction 4, for Telford West, at about 9.50am.
Fire crews from Wellington and Tweedale were called to the scene, along with an incident commander from Shrewsbury.
A spokesman for the Central Motorway Police Group said the two lanes of motorway at the stretch involved were both closed to enable firefighters to free people from the wreckage, although none were believed to have been seriously injured.
