Thousands of visitors will flock to Shropshire’s county town tomorrow for the award-winning Shrewsbury Flower Show.

The two-day show promises beautiful floral displays, showjumping, music, fireworks and special guest appearances from celebrity chefs, the Hairy Bikers and TV gardener Chris Beardshaw.

It is the 123rd flower show and more than 60,000 visitors are set to visit the Quarry to see nearly three million blooms. The event is the culmination of months of effort by professional growers and amateur gardeners.

Peter Road-Night, show secretary, said: “Preparations are going very well. We’re very happy with advanced ticket sales.”

Tickets are £20 on the gate or £15 for the over-60s.
