Thousands hit by Cross Houses power cut

More than 5,000 homes near Shrewsbury were left without electricity by a power cut.
The 12-minute cut hit homes in and around Cross Houses, including Cantlop, at about 10pm yesterday.
Jonathan Smith, of power firm Eon, said: “We were doing some internal work to the network and when something was switched over it caused an unexpected power cut.”
