Workmen suffer burns on Telford industrial estate
Tuesday 10th August 2010, 3:36PM BST.
Two workmen suffered facial burns and had to be airlifted to hospital following an accident on a Shropshire industrial estate today.
Two Midlands Air Ambulances were called to Halesfield in Telford just after 11.30am.
Spokesman Chris Kowalik said: “It is understood the two workmen were digging into the ground when they both suffered burns.
“The men, one in his forties, the other in his fifties, both had facial burns. Between them, they also had burns to their arms and hands.”
“Their injuries were treated and they were given pain relief at the scene.
“With the attending crews recognising the need to quickly take the patients to the right place for the right treatment, both men were flown by the two helicopters to the specialist burns unit at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham.”
