Telford brothers jailed for attacking man
Wednesday 4th August 2010, 9:34AM BST.
Two Telford brothers have each been given five-month jail sentences suspended for 12 months for knocking a man unconscious after the pair had been out on a drinking spree.
Matthew, 25, and Michael, 23, Dugmore, both of East Avenue, Donnington, appeared at Shrewsbury Crown Court yesterday for sentencing.
Both had previously admitted charges of affray outside a flat in Donnington on June 14, last year.
Matthew Dugmore was also ordered to carry out 100 hours of unpaid work, pay £750 compensation to the victim and £750 costs.
Michael Dugmore was also ordered to carry out 240 hours of unpaid work.
Geoffrey Dann, prosecuting, said the two brothers had been out drinking when Matthew started arguing with his former partner.
They went to her house and Luther Rehman came out to ask them what was wrong.
They hit Mr Rehman and kicked him unconscious as he lay on the ground.
Daniel White for Matthew Dugmore, said his client had now immersed himself in work and was being a responsible father.
Mark Sharman, for Michael Dugmore, said his client was of previous good character.
