Police’s check on Oswestry snoopers
Friday 23rd July 2010, 11:30AM BST.
Police are investigating an incident in which two men in a car were seen apparently taking photographs of children as they were playing in an Oswestry street.
The black or dark coloured vehicle, possibly a people-carrier or similar sized car, was seen on Saturday evening in Cabin Lane.
The two occupants had a “professional looking” camera and are reported to have been taking photographs of children playing outside.
The same car, which had dark-tinted windows, was seen again in the area the following day.
Community Support Officer Rob Hamer said anyone who might have seen the vehicle or knows the identity of the occupants should contact the police immediately by telephoning 0300 333 3000.
“At this time the men’s behaviour is being treated as a suspicious incident and we are keen to identify who they are,” he said.
“I would also ask the two men who were in the car to get in touch with us so that we can establish what they were doing in the area at the time.”
