Man’s cheek broken in Oswestry assault

A man suffered a broken cheekbone in an assault in Oswestry.

Police are seeking witnesses to an incident at The Boar’s Head Inn in the town’s Willow Street at 12.10am on Saturday.

Constable Scott Harrower, the investigating officer, said the victim, a 27-year-old man, was in the outside area of the premises near to the top bar. The victim believes he was punched to the face and knocked to the ground.

“It was a serious assault and he suffered a fractured right cheekbone and considerable swelling to the side of his face,” Constable Harrower said.

He added: “I would welcome any information which might help our inquiries into this incident.”

He appealed for witnesses to contact him at Oswestry police station on 0300 333 3000 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
