Shropshire Golf Centre in Muxton on sale for £2.6m
Thursday 8th July 2010, 10:32AM BST.
A Shropshire golf club with three nine-hole courses is for sale with a price tag of £2.6 million.
Several buyers have already come forward expressing an interest in the Shropshire Golf Centre in Muxton, Telford.
Owner Burhill Golf and Leisure Ltd says it is selling because the centre does not fit in with the location of the rest of its golf clubs.
Paul Barnes, property and asset manager at Burhill, based in Surrey, said today: “It’s a difficult one to manage given the rest of our portfolio is primarily in the Home Counties. It sits further out.”
The property, marketed through HMH Golf and Leisure, covers 250 acres and includes an academy course and large floodlit driving range. Burhill has owned the club, described as one of the top golf centres in the Midlands, for about eight years.
Tom Marriott, selling agent at HMH Golf and Leisure, said there were already had two or three parties interested. He said the club made money and was a good business asset.
