An investigation into an alleged sexual assault of a 22-year-old woman in Shrewsbury has been dropped after police chiefs today said they were sure no crime had been committed.

The woman claimed to have been assaulted by three men as she walked through Castle Walk, off Underdale Road in Shrewsbury, in the early hours of yesterday.

Detectives had been told she was forced to the ground and attacked. But officers today said the investigation had been concluded and no action would be taken.
