Dog attack baby has surgery

A seven-month-old boy was today “comfortable” in hospital after being attacked by a dog in Shropshire.
William Jaundrell was attacked by the family’s farm dog in Peplow, near Market Drayton, last week and suffered serious multiple injuries.
Family members say the border collie, Bill, had never shown signs of such behaviour. The dog has been destroyed.
William was visiting his grandparents’ farm when the attack happened on Thursday afternoon.
He has undergone surgery at Birmingham Children’s Hospital, in an att- empt to save his leg. A hospital spokesman said: “Today the boy is comfortable.”
Today William’s great-grandfather Thomas Berry, reportedly said William and the dog were used to each other and the dog was usually good. The dog jumped through an open car window and “bounced” on the boy but did not savage him.
