Here’s a bit of a mystery that the National Trust at Attingham Park is hoping a Shropshire Star reader can help them in solving. House and visitor services manager Catherine Turnbull says: “At Attingham Park we have a second-hand bookshop. Donations of books are made regularly by local people and visitors. “This year we have found an old photograph with a negative in one of the books. We think that someone must have forgotten it or they were unaware that the photo was in a donated book.” The photo is five inches by three and a half inches. Both the negative and photo were in a greaseproof paper style packet with the code m317 written on the lip. “It would be great to reunite the photo with the family,” said Catherine. “There is no indication of where the photo was taken or of whom, but the fashions seem to point to a date just before World War One.”
