Shrewsbury road rage attack on driver
Thursday 10th June 2010, 11:29AM BST.
A terrified motorist was subjected to a barrage of abuse and had his wing mirror smashed in a road-rage attack, near Shrewsbury.
The incident happened along the A458 at Halfway House at about 3.30pm on Monday.
The victim was driving a Vauxhall Corsa towards Shrewsbury when a dark coloured Porsche Boxster in front of him is reported to have begun breaking sharply for unknown reasons, before slowing down to about 20mph.
The driver of the Porsche, which had a personalised registration plate, is then alleged to have stopped his vehicle completely and got out, walking towards the victim in an aggressive manner.
He then allegedly shouted abuse at the victim before hitting the driver’s side wing mirror with his hand, causing it to smash resulting in at least £100 worth of damage.
Constable Debbie Wheeler, who is investigating the incident, said the offender then went back to his own vehicle and is reported to have driven off at speed towards Shrewsbury.
Anyone with information on the incident can call police on 0300 333 3000.
