The Shropshire Motor and Leisure Show was launched to showcase leisure opportunities organised by local companies and to shine the spotlight on the local motor industry.
Organisers dubbed the event a great success and said they were delighted that large crowds had attended on both days.
Gareth Cadwallader, deputy advertisement manager for Shropshire Star, said: “It’s been an out and out success.
“We’ve had a great weekend here at the Prostar Stadium and we’re very pleased that so many people came along. The event was launched three years ago and it continues to go from strength to strength.”
Mr Cadwallader said big name motor dealers like Greenhous, Furrows, Budgen, William A Lewis, Lexus and Jaguar were on hand throughout the weekend to tell visitors about new models.
Salop Leisure offered advice on caravans and motorhomes while Shropshire-based Alan Ward exhibited a large range of garden furniture.
Mr Cadwallader added: “The fire service was here with a fire engine, which was particularly popular with youngsters, and there was also a climbing wall and bouncy castle.
“We had everything for the family, particularly those who were thinking of changing their car or organising a holiday right here in the UK.”
Mr Cadwallader said local companies had been very resilient in recent years, despite the global financial crisis, and had continued to perform well.
He added that people wanted to spend money with local companies because they could be assured of great value and service from people who were based in Shropshire or Telford & Wrekin.
