Friday 4th June 2010, 12:50PM BST.
Two men have been arrested on suspicion of possessing controlled drugs after up to 15 police officers raided a house in Telford this morning.
Officers swooped on the address in Hills Lane Drive, Madeley, at 8am and sealed off the property after a quantity of what is believed to be Class A and B drugs were discovered.
One man, 28, was held and taken to Malinsgate Police Station to be questioned. A second man, 41, was later arrested when he arrived at the property.
The warrant was executed under the Misuse of Drugs act by officers from the South Telford Local Policing Team with the help of response officers after intelligence and information received from the public.
Inspector Derek Holland said police would continue to clamp down on those people involved in supplying drugs in the area.
Mr Holland said: “This is the latest in a series of warrants issued under the Misuse of Drugs Act this year and police will continue to tackle those suspected of supplying drugs.
“We always act on information that is passed to us but on occasions we have to bide our time before putting an operation in place to follow up on the information we have received.
“Anyone who has any concerns regarding drug crimes should call us immediately.”
Information can be passed to police on 0300 333 3000 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
