GP Barrie Walker was one of the first on the scene after the shootings in Seascale.

Meanwhile, David Cameron is due to visit Cumbria later as police continue to investigate the 12 killings carried out by gunman Derrick Bird.

The Prime Minister, who will be accompanied by Home Secretary Theresa May, is to meet senior police officers.

Bird, 52, also wounded 11 people before shooting himself in the west of the county on Wednesday afternoon.
