Two arrested after Whitchurch man attacked

Two men aged 25 have been arrested after a Whitchurch man was knocked to the ground while walking home from a town function.
Police today appealed for witnesses to the incident in which the victim, 38, suffered a cut eye and suspected concussion. He was treated at Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.
Officers say the victim and his partner had left The Civic Centre when they were approached by two men in Roman Way just before 2am on Sunday.
Both men have been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent.
