Shropshire policeman charged with assault

A Shropshire police officer charged with assault was today committed to crown court. Jason Swinney, 33, who is a West Mercia Police officer based in Telford, is charged with causing actual bodily harm to Mark Vick in April, 2009.

Swinney was remanded on unconditional bail at Worcester Magistrates Court.

He will appear at Gloucester Crown Court on July 23.
