Man assaulted in his own home
Tuesday 1st June 2010, 3:15PM BST.

A MAN WAS assaulted in his home by three men in broad daylight in an apparently motiveless attack.
The man was treated in hospital overnight following the assault at the house in Shrewsbury on Saturday afternoon.
Police said the incident was “very traumatic” for the victim and issued an urgent appeal for witnesses.
The attack happened at the house in Crewe Street, Castlefields, at about 2.50pm on Saturday.
The victim, a man in his 30s, suffered cuts and bruises and was taken to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital. He was kept in overnight.
Detective Constable Alex Sullivan is leading the investigation into the incident.
He said: “Although the assault happened inside the premises it’s quite possible the assailants were spotted arriving at the premises or leaving afterwards, possibly running away.
Suspicious
“I am anxious to hear from anyone who saw anything suspicious in the Crewe Street area on Saturday afternoon which might be connected to this incident.
“Several witnesses have already come forward but because it is a residential area and it happened at a busy time of day, I believe there are other people who can help the inquiry.”
Anyone with any information is asked to call police in Shrewsbury on 0300 333 3000.
Information can also be given anonymously via the Crimestoppers line on 0800 555111, where a reward is sometimes paid.
Mr Sullivan said: “This was a serious incident and very traumatic for the victim.
“I am also appealing for any information concerning the identities of the three offenders.
“We have no idea if there was a motive. The victim involved said he doesn’t know why it happened at all.”
