Letter: Vorsprung durch (definitely not) lunatic
Tuesday 1st June 2010, 8:00AM BST.
Letter: I refer to Mr Atherton’s assessment of BMW and Audi drivers in the Shropshire Star.
Like Jean Mellings of Ludlow I am astonished that someone could waste his time declaring war on BMW and Audi drivers. Maybe he is jealous that he doesn’t have a BMW or Audi. (Read the original letter here.)
Having said that I understand he wants to make what he considers to be a valid point.
More to the point put the boot on the other foot. When I drive my BMW I find some drivers very aggressive towards the car – always wanting to race away from the lights, undertake or drive at speed to get past a BMW driving a little more slowly – just to make some kind of point.
Perhaps we should focus on more important issues such as driving while using mobile phones. I see this each and every day and, having been “cut up” by a driver recently on the M54 at Junction 6, understand just how dangerous these things are.

Paul, Finally someone who makes sense, You have hit the damn nail on the head. With one hell of a hammer. Im sick and tired of all these moaning halfwits who have nothing better to do with their time than to whinge about people who decide to drive faster than them – ie – more than 40mph on a long straight piece of road. Mobile phones are always a concern, thers no getting round it, you cant concentrate on two things at one – simple! I drive fast, because i enjoy it – but my focus is 100% on the road, and nothing else. But, never compromise this by using phones, talking to passangers etc. Remember Love = Life = Speed. I think I may have seen the driver of the original letter on the A458 doing 40mph with a queue of traffic behind him. Then again, I also saw the white of his eyes and flat cap as I got close then overtook the “Sunday Driver” as it was a Monday and my BMW was feeling frisky!!

Having read the original letter and this one my view of men has changed a little bit – I thought only women were capable of being catty lol!

But I just sharpened them and have a shinny new bell. Dont worry about any crazy driving from me this week had a call from the pit crew was told to save fuel, just got over taken by Jenson Button, well thats never happened before can’t trust those Mercedes drivers always up the back of the guy in front keep telling them 40mph will get you there just as fast but do they listen.
