Friends of ours stayed there recently and at breakfast there were 6 guests and 4 staff, mostly standing round doing nothing. And the heating was on full blast when it had been the hottest weekend of the year. The administrators need to tighten up on the management if Bellstones is to survive, which I hope it does.

I regularly go in the Bellstone for lunch and if anything the service has improved in the last couple of weeks since the handover to PKF administrators. I like the hotel and will continue to support it!

Janine, if you left the deposit using your credit card then you will probably get all of your money back from the card provider under the 1974 Consumer Credit Act.

If not, then you need to make an application as an unsecured creditor to the Joint Administrators.

Do note that the Joint Administrators are from PKF and not PFK as incorrectly stated by the Shropshire Star.

Agreed. The failure of the business is not surprising given the current economic climate. The pub and restaurant trades are really struggling as we all know, and a (pseudo) prestige with optimistic pricing will always be an especially fragile business model.

“‘Business as usual’ for the Bellstone and customers can expect the same quality service” Don’t they realise that’s why it is in the position it is today? The standard of service and food were hardly going to attract and retain new business. Shame as it use to be a great place to go.

my wedding is booked there in september and no one has had the decency to call us before we read this in the paper. Its a joke. No one has called us back or replied to emails regarding our worries. I think we should be entitled to our deposit back through sheer lack of good customer service!
