Hitler memorabilia set for auction
Wednesday 19th May 2010, 9:23AM BST.
Architectural plans charting a vision of Hitler’s Germany including a house of art and the Nazi leader’s own residence could collectively raise up to £50,000 at a Shropshire auction.
The four sets of drawings featuring important buildings in Hitler’s Germany, including his own property in Berlin, are set to go under the hammer during a sale at Ludlow Racecourse on May 27.
The lots being auctioned by Mullocks Auctioneers feature original architectural drawings for the Bayreuth Community House and District Sports and Administrative Offices; the House of German Art; Haus Epp - the residence of the Governor of Munich; and Hitler’s own residence in Berlin.
The first of these plans was designed by Hans Rissinger, a Beyreuth born architect, whose other projects included the Ludwig-Siebert festival hall and the expansion of Winfred Wagner’s house in the town.
The other three lots were the work of Paul Ludwig Troost.
