Jockey airlifted after fall

Friday 14th May 2010, 9:52AM BST.

A jockey was airlifted to hospital with hip and pelvic injuries and another was knocked out after they came off their horses during a race meeting in Shropshire.

The incident, which involved three jockeys, happened at Ludlow Racecourse yesterday. Ambulance crews arrived at about 6pm.

The jockeys taken to hospital were named in reports as Richard Johnson and Andrew Glassonbury.

A spokesman for Ludlow Racecourse said both men had been discharged from hospital.
