Typical holiday weather for area
Saturday 1st May 2010, 10:59AM BST.
Much of Britain, including Shropshire and Mid Wales, faces typically grim bank holiday weather this weekend.
Heavy rain and bitterly cold temperatures are expected to hit the region with thunder showers and gusts of wind reaching 18mph expected from about 4pm today.
The bad weather will last overnight with a drop in temperature to just 5C (41F) by Sunday morning.
Victoria Kettley, from MeteoGroup, said the weather was “not going to be brilliant”, with Wales and the Midlands bearing the brunt of the downpours today.
“There is going to be a fair amount of cloud around and during the afternoon more persistent rain is going to develop, probably heaviest in the evening, and that’s going to continue overnight,” she said.
On Sunday gusts of wind could reach highs of 31mph with overall sunny intervals. By evening time the cloud will remain and continue into Monday.

We also had typical bank holiday weather here in Brisbane. It’s getting nippy at nights, down to 18 centigrade, tho’ the days cheer us up with clear blue skies and cooler days now, down to 27 degrees centigrade! It’s back to track-suit pants now until September.
