Track work at level crossing

A major route leading into Wem is to close while work is carried out on a notorious level crossing.
Rail bosses say “essential rail track work” needs to be carried out at the level crossing, which will require Aston Street to be closed.
The work will be carried out from 10pm on August 14 until 6am August 15.
Network Rail has requested the road closure for the work, which “is vital to ensure the safety of both road and rail users”.
