Bollards for Bridgnorth crash market site
Friday 30th April 2010, 11:26AM BST.
High-strength, impact-tested bollards are to be put up under Bridgnorth’s town hall after 14 people were injured when a car ploughed into shoppers and traders.
Members of Bridgnorth Town Council decided at a meeting last night to spend £2,900 on two removable telescopic barriers to guard the entrance to the market, which is held under the town hall in High Street.
Councillor Adrian Tacchi said the crash, on April 16, was a freak accident, but that did not mean it could not happen again.
