A Latvian accountant who worked as a fruit picker and in a warehouse while studying for new qualifications on arriving in the UK has finally started a new life with a Shropshire firm.

Evita Hussey, 27, has begun a career in marketing with business-driver training organisation TTC Automotive in Telford.

Evita, who trained as an accountant after graduating from university in Latvia, moved to the UK six years ago.

Evita, who now lives in Cannock, Staffordshire, got her first UK job picking strawberries before studying for a BA in international business management at Derby University.

She later worked an eight- hour shift until midnight each night as a warehouse operative, ending up as a team leader, while still doing her university course from 9am to 4pm each weekday.

She said: "I needed to find something more challenging after I completed my BA at university.
