Grenville's campaign will focus on important issues such as affordable housing, a modern rural economy with decent jobs, education, health and social care.

Grenville, a qualified teacher said: "I think the number one issue for us is supporting our young people, so I will be focusing on retaining schools, decent jobs and the cost of housing. The rural housing crisis affects everyone from renters to families needing more space.

"Under the present political system we have seen child poverty increase dramatically across the region - I'm appalled that there is a need for food banks in one of the world's richest countries. I also share the frustration of many local people at the council's apparent reluctance to stand up for local people against cruel ideological cuts. Just blaming everything on Westminster or the incumbents in the Senedd isn't good enough. Our region is changing, and many of the changes are positive, but long-term residents mustn't feel edged out– we need services and development that works for everyone. I want the local people to have a positive vision for the future, a future filled with hope, and I believe that I can deliver the change that is so desperately needed."

During his career, Grenville has been tireless in his efforts to improve the wellbeing of local people and protect the environment. Amongst other initiatives Grenville founded the award-winning Green Valleys CIC, which helps communities across the region to work collectively, reduce their carbon emissions and protect the environment.

Grenville is also an award-winning expert in the energy sector and has designed hydroelectric schemes across the region, for both farmers and community groups, which will generate over £50 million for the local economy.

Grenville will stand against Liberal Democrat incumbent, Kirsty Williams, as well as Conservative candidate Gary Price in the elections on 5th May 2016.
