Find a Prague hotel for a sightseeing extravaganza

There are few cities anywhere in the world that offer visitors as many sights to see as there are in Prague. The capital of the Czech Republic is most definitely the place to go for keen sightseers looking to spend their holiday exploring the city and taking in each and every attraction. This historic city not only offers visitors plenty of history and heritage, but tourists can also enjoy modern Prague hotels where they can relax after a jam-packed day of sightseeing.
Prague is renowned across the world for its architectural beauty. The Czech city and its buildings are considered to be so beautiful and contain so much important history that the city has been put on the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites. This will give people who have never visited Prague before an idea of just how architecturally stunning the city is and that the sights alone are worth the visit.
Prague is known as the ‘Golden city of a hundred spires’ and there are so many things to see that you may have to extend your weekend break to the city. The historical centre of Prague features buildings that date back to the 14th century, and it is here that most of the city’s heritage can be found.
The Czech capital boasts a range of different architectural styles, ranging from the baroque and Renaissance periods to the art nouveau style of the 20th century. The nearby National Museum is a good place to find out about much of this history and the imposing building is a magnificent sight itself, especially at night.

The castle dominates the city’s skyline and if you get the opportunity to get a panoramic view of the city then it will be easy to pick the castle out. It is made up of various architectural styles and influences and aptly shows how the city’s architecture has changed over the years. Its Gothic spires are visible from everywhere in Prague and it is the centre of the castle that is the most spectacular.
St Vitus’s Cathedral will leave many tourists speechless thanks to its grandeur. But the cathedral is not the only sight inside the castle for sightseers to gaze at. The complex is also home to the Old Royal Palace and the Basilica of St George, both of which are stunning sights in their own right.
For visitors looking for evening’s entertainment, the jazz at the castle is not to be missed. Hosted at the Villa Richter, this incredible restaurant not only serves up very tasty food but also hosts many cultural events, of which the jazz at the castle is one of the most popular.
There are many other top restaurants dotted around the city that serve traditional Czech cuisine as well as more cosmopolitan and modern European food. If it is Czech grub that you’re after then the traditional pubs in Prague are the places to head, and you can enjoy a cold beer as well as some Czech classics.
Restaurants and pubs such as the Pivnice u Pivrnce and U Medvidku are some of the most highly regarded eateries in the city. Dishes such as cold smoked mackerel, raw beef on deep-fried toast and head cheese are all Czech favourites that you may come to love.
Much of the food served in Prague’s pubs and restaurants is unique to the Czech Republic and is part and parcel of the country’s culture. If it is a great deal that you’re after then the U Radnice is a pub popular with the locals and serves Czech feasts at very low prices.
