Although the mystical Djemma el Fna square in Marrakech, the historic Old town Square in Prague and the vibrant consumer capital that is New York’s Times Square, could not appear more different, they do in fact share a common identity – they are all the hub of local life and culture.
New York City walking tours will introduce you to perhaps the most famous hub of local life and culture – Times Square.
The bright lights of Times Square are world famous. Dense with illuminated billboards, neon lights, digital advertisements and animated signs, Times Square is a vibrant cacophony that has become the global icon of the Big Apple and a principle New York Tourist Attraction. Hailed as the cross road to the world, Times Square is an urban melting pot with a fast pace and high energy and many New York City walking tours begin or end here.
New York City Walking Tours are the perfect way for a New York City Tourist to experience the buzz of city life. Walk in the shadows of the city’s colossal skyscrapers, architectural landmarks and super-malls and in the Manolo Blahnik footsteps of stars like Sarah Jessica Parker. For Fans of Carrie Bradshaw, the Sex and the City tour is a perfect way to spend an afternoon in Manhattan. For a more sombre and reflective tour, Ground Zero Tours are a must do in the City. Pay tribute to the victims of that fateful September 11th at the site where the Twin Towers fell.
If the fast paced urban landscape of New York is too much to handle, then head to the enchanting city of Marrakech in Morocco, North Africa. If you are not sure what to do in Marrakech, The Djemma el Fna Square is the place to start your African adventure. This vibrant square is one of the busiest in the world and from here there are plenty of Marrakech sightseeing options and Marrakech activities to get you acquainted with the city. There are many things to do in Marrakech; become lost in the labyrinthine streets which are riddled with open air markets – souks, colourful shopping bazaars and leather stalls for a hard days haggling with the local vendors. Alternatively, stay in the square to watch an enchanting cultural dance or a snake charmer work his magic.
Prague, while sharing the same traditional feel of Marrakech, has a distinct feel of its own. The historic old town square should fit easily into anyone’s top ten things to do in Prague and is a rich architectural quarter with a strong 12th century heritage. The Square is home to a vast collection of beautiful buildings of Gothic and Baroque design and the weather in Prague makes it a great place to sit and watch the world go by. After a day of cultural sightseeing in the Czech capital, it is only fair to put your feet up and enjoy an ice cold beer.
Nightlife in Prague ranges from small cozy beer halls to raucous club venues which attract DJ’s all over the world. If you are looking for a decent shopping in Prague, then the Old Square caters more for tourists, with vendors selling souvenirs and keepsakes. Wenceslas Square on the other hand is a shopping hub and littered with not only boutiques and fashion stores but also cocktail bars, street side cafes and restaurants too!
