Country house to feature on BBC TV series

A 17th century country house in the Shropshire countryside is to feature on BBC television property hunting series Escape to the Country.
The owners of Old Lawns Farmhouse, at Habberley near Pontesbury, today revealed a BBC film crew came to their Shropshire home last week, with it due to appear in series 12 of the show.
Stuart Lambie, who owns the house, said: “The film crew came twice last week — on Easter Monday to take some general shots and on Wednesday to film the presenter Jules Hudson and the house hunters.
“We only received brief feedback afterwards from the director who mentioned that the house hunters liked the house and would be checking the distance to local airports, as the gentleman travels a lot to Spain with work.”
Television researchers had been alerted to Old Lawns Farmhouse after it went on the market with Shrewsbury estate agents Halls for £395,000.
Halls think the four-bedroom house and its 0.7-acre grounds will appeal to commuters, due to its good road links to Shrewsbury and the M54.
A spokesman said: “Old Lawns Farmhouse is ideal for people who like the country life, as its rural location gives walkers ready access to the scenic Long Mynd and many other footpaths, yet is within easy reach of the thriving village of Pontesbury.
“Character features include a wealth of exposed wall and ceiling timbers and a splendid inglenook fireplace with a log burner in the living room.”
The property also includes a small paddock and a stone building that was once a granary. No date has yet been announced for the screening of the programme.
