First keys to Telford homes handed over
Monday 14th February 2011, 3:59PM GMT.
The first keys for homes on a redeveloped site in Telford have been handed over to the Wrekin Housing Trust.
The trust was handed the keys to the first phase of six properties at Arleston Lane in Wellington by the developer of the site, Lovells.
These first six homes are three and four bedroom, modern, spacious houses with gardens and parking. Two of the properties have been specially adapted for families with children with special requirements, such as lifts and wet rooms.
The site will provide 20 homes in total, which will replace the derelict Windsor flats that were previously on this piece of land.
Three more three-bedroom houses will be completed and keys handed to the trust shortly, with a further 11 two bedroom apartments by the end of March.
All will be built to meet Code for Sustainable Homes Level 4 and also the Lifetime Homes standard and will be let through the Trust’s Choose Your Home rental system.
Marie Wynne, who was recently told that she had been allocated one of the homes on the site, said: “I was really pleased to get this new home, I felt like I had won the lottery when the Trust told me. I’ve already started measuring up so I can get moved in as soon as possible.”
